great forum ! :D

Actually has anyone else noticed that in a lot of the "Yeomans" pictured for sale (at least on Ebay) look exactly like Explorers? The models are very similar except for one blade I believe so I don't know if it means they changed the model or everyone's using the wrong picture.

It looks like an interesting model... I want one for the fun of it.

the yeoman has the combo blade for the can opener/bottle opener, alot of times they will call it the yeoman but it actually an explorer with the 2 seperate blades. the combo tool is kind of cool just for being different. :)

I got mine about a month ago at a local sports store. I LOVE IT :D It has all the tools I need and the magnifying glass has come in handy a couple of times (ever notice you never need a thing until you have it with you all the time  ). It is now part of my EDC.

just ordered one with the belt leash only 32 for both

So did you wind up getting the original Yeoman or the newly rebadged Explorer Plus model? If it's the old single-bladed version with the combo tool can you tell me where you found it as I'm trying to locate one. Thanks.

I've already made the mistake of ordering one from a website that was still using the old photo. Needless to say the knife that arrived wasn't the one I was looking for. That's why I'm looking for confirmation from someone who has actually received one of the older models.

Try a Compact!
Same knife but without the philips and the magnifying glass!

The short lived Yeoman has been discontinued for some years now.

I have read numerous reports where people have ordered the Yeoman (both BSA and non-) only to receive the Explorer (plus) model.

I do realise functionally the Explorer is very similar -
but to those who want a Yeoman that one layer/backspring difference is significant.

There are a lot of sites out there advertising the 3 backspring original Yeoman. I, too fell victim to an online order of what was pictured to be a Yeoman, but turned out to be an Explorer plus. It is still a nice knife, but it sure would be nice to find the slighly slimmer version.

How long has it been discontinued? I don't suppose we could be lucky enough to find someone who still has some of the originals in their inventory...
