Here is a thread dedicated only to this very handy knife that triggered a ridiculous grown in the company and possibly was key in sparking great interest of everyone in multi-tools.

Without much else to say here is a photo of one that I always have with me, either in a pocket or a backpack.. I filed the keyring off and now it feels great in my pocket. It is usually paired with a much smaller pocket knife too.

It is a fantastic knife. I prefer the electrician for the small sheepsfoot though.

I love these knives. Before I got into knives, a Soldier from 2002 was my single pocket knive. Carried it while camping, traveling and nearly each day at home, work etc. Now I've got a bit more Soldiers, Pioneers and Wengers SI's, which are great knives too.

The Dutch army also used to issue Pioneers. Here is a picture. The one on the very left is made by Amefa, the other alox models are made by Victorinox.

Those Dutch Army knives are sweet. I need to try and get some DAKs for my collection.

I love the Pioneer/soldier. It is definitely my favorite alox model, and it is usually my go-to SAK of choice.

I've never owned a SAK, just Leathermans but I got gifted a Wenger Evo Grip (don't know which model) in a Secret Santa and fell in love with the simplicity & functionality of it right away. Went ahead and picked up a silver Electrician and a black Pioneer from Swiss Bianco. I carried the Elec. today at work along with the Wenger and they worked well together. Still waiting on the Pioneer but it looks like it will be perfect for me away from work. BTW, I still carried my Surge on my belt but didn't use it. I don't think it will get used as much as it used to but you can never have too many tools on you, IMO. Especially when you're under a house or on a roof.

I have a KL92 coming in about 2 weeks or so. My buddy has been holding it for me along with a couple of Red ALOX pioneers. It's my first DAK!

Here's his pic:

first world problems :D

I've got an 01 in great shape, and a 79 that looked like someone used it to clean the back of a cement truck. Even with half the blade gone it will outlive me! Someday I'll add a farmer to the collection I'm sure.

These are great knives.
Here is an old brass liner Pioneer and a newer one. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395030119.573207.jpg
