For under $18 i thought why not? Making it one of my wifes b-day gifts as she has mentioned wanting to retire someday and work part time in a florist shop.
It arrived and i took a peek at it as my wife is home and i still want it to be a surprise.
What I find weird is it has no packing and is in a small ziplock bag??
Anyone here have this experience with the floral model?

I don't have experience with that one, but let us know how she likes it. I was honestly thinking of getting one for my wife to use in the yard.

They should come in a blister pack brand new.

If its in a ziplock it could be the seller got a lot of them with no packaging but they are still "new", ie open box returns or something..or damaged packaging.

it could be fake

It could be used

That's really the possibilities because brand new in packaging is a blister pack as I said.

For clarity sake, I do not know first hand, but looked up many reviews and all were in blister packs.

Hope that helps

From my own experience, I've also received SAKs I had purchased new online in sometimes a bag, or just an envelope, maybe wrapped in tissue, sometimes including the box packaging folded flat.

Seems to be a cheaper method of shipping SAKs in standard boxes. Many times, these knives will be picked up in large quantity by.. florists, who then decide to unload extras. I picked up 5 for a few dollars once, just to lay around. Bonsai!

What? It was a a heavy letter, or a breath mint?

I had one for a while. I thought it was a very good knife. The handle was comfortable, the build was solid, and the blade was a good one.

Victorinox also makes a florist’s scissors with a stem crusher. I have a pair somewhere but can’t put my hands on it

I bought 3 used ones from the auction site several years ago. I just bought them to lay on the workbench, etc. I was very pleased, nice little knives. Your wife should like it and get a lot of use from it.

Can't believe they sent it to you in such a large box with no packing??? A small padded envelope would work, or USPS flat rate box. Strange.

The main blade on my 'Tinker Delux' is almost as long as the handle. The blade in the picture seems shorter. Must be an optical illusion, or are there more blades? Have had mine for over 30 years. The logo on yours is almost identical. Nothing has ever discolored the stainless of the working parts.

Got it back when Americans thought that good knives could not be made of stainless. Heh heh.

I researched more, the listing where you got it says in the description that its bulk packaged, which means they bought in bulk and there were no manufacturer packaging included. So its most likely real and Amazon is ok with bulk packaging as long as its stated in the description.
