Anybody here had a chance to use the mysterious hook on your SAK's? What's the most creative way you used it? I used it once to carry a 220V to 14V step down transformer (that was a school project). I just threaded heavy gauge copper wire through the core's screw holes and carried the heavy thing thrice a week during shop class, going to and from school. Try carrying it by the copper wire and compare it using a SwissChamp. What comfort it brought me... ;)

I don't have a SAK with the hook, but I use the corkscrew for the same purposes.

1. Tightening laces on skates or boots
2. Fishing stuff out of tight spots
3. I've never done it, but parcel carry (just can't keep the handle strait like on a hook model, slightly bent)

What kind of parcel are you carrying with a corkscrew? A nicely wrapped Bordeaux? :D

I used to hate the hook but now I've recognized its great value- it got me started collecting SAKs. In '98, the main blade on my old Climber was worn down about 30% so I went to the local knife store and bought a replacement. When I got home, I noticed the hook. I thought it was worthless so I registered on ebay and started hunting for an older model instead.

More like a Pinot Grigio ;)

Actually i have never used it, just to see if it worked. I picked up a big bundle of papers with the corkscrew fine. :)
