The BF2 TTS "Wardog" is from Extrema Ratio's basic folder series. The BF line is slightly smaller than the MF series and uses proportionately thinner materials. Additionally it does not have a tungsten-carbide glass breaker. Outside of these differences, the knife is of the same excellent build quality that you would come to expect from this manufacturer.

The Wardog features a smallish N690BO tanto blade with a downward sloping spine that complies with many European blade length restrictions. It is mounted in a full sized black anodized anticordal aluminum handle that has one stainless liner for the lock. The geometry will allow for excellent piercing capabilities while maintaining stability and blade control. Although tanto style blades aren't my favourite, the shortened blade combined with the tanto tip makes sense in this context. If you are looking for a knife more suited to cutting tasks the drop point version, the BF2 CDS Pitbull would be a better choice.

Like the BF2's bigger brothers, it features a safety that keeps the already sturdy liner lock from disengaging. To its credit, the lock toggle on this knife is black (on the MF series it is red and stands out a bit). Concentric rings machined into the all aluminum scales create an aggressive grip while considerably reducing the over all weight. The resulting design is functional and sophisticated. A low ride pocket clip finishes things off. Contrary to many low ride clips, this one does not bend out or distort easily and has a firm pressure. It is also reversible.

Although the Wardog might not appeal to everyone it cannot be denied that its form follows its function. The grippy handle, low ride clip and sturdy build lend themselves well to concealed carry as a backup or self-defence knife. As always, Extrema Ratio has done a great job proportioning the details of the design making an aesthetically pleasing, functional and long lasting knife. Owners who like other knives with a smaller blade and full-size handle such as the Spyderco para-military 2 will also enjoy the BF2 TTS.
