Hi,
I also saw your great pictures on knifetest. This a gorgeous knife and that triadlock is such a great improvement on the old good backlock.
You are a lucky man.

cheers

This is just plain...trouble.

Tons and tons of really amazing blades on this site and I had to go and stumble on this one.

Talk about ringing every bell at once. Crap.

That thing is fantastic.

Thanks for the review video, Jim. I appreciate your work -- and those beautiful edges you create.

Can you explain the edge geometry a bit more. The Lawman is a high, hollow grind on the blade, which I usually think of as paired with a very thin edge, like the Sebenza.

But the edge you put in your Lawman is very wide, making me wonder if you're using an especially acute edge profile (20 degrees or less inclusive) or the edge itself is very wide.

It's 15 degrees per side. :)

Thanks. It's difficult to eyeball the width of the edge from the YouTube video, but given the 30-degree edge bevel, I'm guessing that its shoulder-to-shoulder width is something well north of 0.03, which is pretty wide. My Sebenza edge is 0.017, which makes it an incredible cutter, especially with the hollow-grind blade.

My Manix (original) is 0.029, and it's a pretty good cutter, too, but nothing like my Sebenza. My Military BG 42 is 0.025. And my RSK M4 is 0.020, which also makes it a good cutter.

I know your Lawman is an excellent cutter because you put such an incredible edge on it, but if the edge is as thick as it appears, I'm worried that it wouldn't be a great cutter when sharpened by us mere mortals or that its cutting ability would drop off sharply as it became dull.

Remember the blade thickness is .200" to start with on mine and it's a heavy duty knife, extreme heavy duty. :)

CPM-154 holds an edge extremely well.
