Well, after hundreds of hours of editing, Marya and I are done with the video. The digital master is in the hands of the dubbing house, and we'll be sending out the first copies on Monday or Tuesday. That being said, if you want to be among the first to own the video, you can visit our website and place your order. They'll be shipped the day the videos arrive (around Wednesday of next week).
A note on the content of the video: We shot over 8 hours of digital video in the two days of our shoot. In order to make our self-imposed Christmas 2000 deadline, we had to omit a lot of footage. THIS tape shows you, from start to finish, how a standard khukuri is made. There are also plenty of interviews with Lalit, TB, and one of the oldes bishwakarmas in Nepal.
Guys: this is the real thing. No more wondering exactly how the cho gets on the blade. No more guessing how the forging process occurs. This video has it all. And as I say on the order page, you'd better get your remote control muscles in shape - you'll be doing a lot of pausing and rewinding. I've seen this footage hundreds of times (literally) and I still see new things each time I watch.
Visit our homepage and click on the "miscelaneous" link under the catalog listing.
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
