Dear BF Members,

To those familiar with Masters of Defense Knives, the Close Quarters Defense folders and fixed blades were well-received when they were released almost a decade ago.

I have made a video review of the Type E version of the CQD Mark 2 which is available for viewing now.

On a personal note, I have a deep affinity for the original CQD Mark 2 for it was the first serious folder that I decided to buy and use back in May 2006.

Some pictures of this knife:

I mentioned a crack on the top of the lanyard hole which might not be seen clearly in the video. This is a picture of the said crack.

Any comments and feedback on this video would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Was about to buy this knife...you talked me into the Mark ll original after seeing the
crack in the handle of yours. Thanks

Glad that my video review was helpful.

Blackhawk also offers an aluminium-alloy version of the CQD Mark 2 in 440C stainless steel and Torx screws which is around 199 USD (MSRP) compared to the original CQD Mark 2 shown in the video (approx 250 USD MSRP).

I can't speak for the 440C version of the CQD Mark 2 as I haven't own or handled one yet.
