I want this knife! Hey what do you use to re-profile the edges on your blades? Excellent job i must say

Ankerson, thanks for the video.
M390 looks like a very promising steel for a wider use in the knife industry - it is wear resistant and (considering its chemical composition) corrosion resistant.

what is the bevel thickness at the cutting edge on your 710 after you have resharpened it?

It's .020" at the top of the edge or as close as I could measure it.

The top as in the shoulder of the bevel, or the top as in the edge-side of the bevel? .002" seems really thin to be at the shoulder of the bevel.

Also, yeah, if this knife didn't have a recurve I'd be saving my pennies.

It's .020, sorry.

Ankerson, thanks for the reply. what angle did you resharpen the blade to? looks like 15 degrees on a side.
What was the original angle you reckon? some 40-45 degrees total?

It's 15 degrees per side. :)

I think it was more like 45 to 50.

how do you resharpen your recurve blades?

changing sharpening angle on a recurve blade is a pain in the neck for me personally, and most recurve blades I have (good thing though, I don't have many of those - a BM 710 D2, a couple of BM skirmishes and a Kershaw Ti-Bump in green) need to be resharpened to a more acute angle.

At first glance, it's hard to even tell that it has a recurve. An Edge Pro would do pretty well(even better with the 1/2 inch stones). I'm sure a Sharpmaker would do fine since the rods are so thin. And my paper wheels did pretty good sharpening the recurves on my ZT 0350CB and 0301.
