Made a little review video of the amazing Boom Parang today. WOW!!! What a knife!!! This thing chops like nobody's business!!! Lightweight and really nice ergos. I'd love to see a satin INFI version of this at some stage down the track. Regardless, the SR101 is still incredible, lightsaber sharp and tough as hell. Love it!!

Outstanding Rob.
You don't actually say much.... but instead let the knife do the talking. Spewing I didn't grad one.... Oh well... off to the exchange.

hi Rob,
parang is actually pronounced 'par-rung'. not par-rang. no offence intended, but it is a tool/knife from my region, just thought to share. Just like you don't call a khukri a 'cark-kree' :D

other than that, thanks! it looks to be a mean chopper, and I know Australia has some bloody hard-wood, in fact, some of the hardest are in Australia ;)

Ok, I want one now....hahaha

Thank ya for the video.

Them was some thin mater slice's.

I dunno... Seems to me like Boom Parang is obviously a play on the word "boomerang". It's not said "boomerung". Or even "boomerong".

Ask a Spanish speaker how to pronounce the word "amarillo". Then, go to the panhandle of Texas and ask them how they say the same word. Which one is wrong?

Neither.

Excellent review Rob, no fluff, straight to the point.
Thanks for putting that together

The only thing that you didn't show was some baton work, otherwise as always amazing video.

I've batoned with my Parang a few times and felt it does really well. The upswept shape of the spine seems beneficial, I definitely noticed a difference vs. striking a straight blade.

Thanks for the heads up.

I like to pronounce words correctly whenever I can.

Now spelling is another thing. :o

I've noticed improvements in the edge geometries of Bussekin knives, but it can still be hit and miss, and it sometimes seems to me that their sr101 blades tend to have better edges than their INFI ones. Lets hope edges like this become standard (including on the upcoming BB13s).

She pretty much does it all, field to kitchen, what more do ya need!

Thanks for the Awesome video Rob!!!!

2 things popped into my head while watching that video....

1) Who in the heck eats their sliced tomatoes that thin?

and...

2) I could just hear Karen saying... "Bugga... Rob's made a bloody mess in th' yard again!"

Thanks for the vid Rob... Enjoyable as always!!!
