really have enjoyed your tests. thanks for making us aware of the lengths the chinese will go to market fakes. i hope you continue to join our forum since your efforts are really appreciated. dennis
 
Interesting stuff.

It looks like the blade play tightened up a bit as a result of the hammer test on the fake ratio knife (ha ha).

Do you mind sharing how you got those? Assuming you paid for them, what were the prices compared to the non-fakes.
 
Two of the fakes,I got from friends,and the Extrema Ratio-fake,I bought myself on ebay for around 40 Euro(ca. 55 Dollar) - too much for a fake,I think.

The "hammer-test" at the end of part two was fun...yesss! ;-)
 
if you're interested in testing some more chinese fakes try the sanrenmu knives.

I've used one before giving it off to a friend, they're pretty darn good for the price.

Except for that the sanrenmu's aren't fakes....their just cheap
 
Yes, I think you paid too much for a fake. Counterfeit knives generally retail for less than 5 dollars in their own market.
