G'day guys,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGoftTpU1Go
Just put up a video review with my impressions/thoughts on the CS GI Tanto.
I wanted to try and test this as a field knife to see if it would be worthwhile for colleagues on a tight budget to consider as an alternative to other military use knives.
I did a search here for video reviews, but didn't find one, and I know this blade's been around for quite a while, so if there is I apologize.
I think it's a great blade especially for the price - Common - US$20?!! AND after seeing Noss4's destruction tests, you KNOW this thing will last...
It's intended design was as a throwing/fighting knife, so I'm not surprised that it didn't perform fantastically as a wood splitter.
However, with that said, I WAS surprised that it actually did what it was able to do - split well, whittled well, etc etc.
So, I think it's a pretty good alternative utility knife - not a fantastic wood knife, but a decent cheap alternative in its place.
