I thought you guys might enjoy this video I did on the SALUS. It's a sweet knife, and since it's limited to 50 pieces, I don't think there will be a whole lot of reviews on it.

Thanks for watching and let me know what you think. :)

Nice complete review...thanks Dan!

One nit picky thing if you are interested...it's a bit long. Take this feedback for what it's worth or ignore it :)

Thanks for doing this.

Nice review - very thorough. I was a little miffed to have missed the prototype auction on fleabay which sold for $251 and would have made a welcome addition to my fixed blade collection. :(

Hey man, I always appreciate feedback. I didn't design the knife but I suppose depending on what you had in mind for it, it could be a little long. Not a small knife by any means.

Thanks man - I tried to cover all the bases as well, thats what I like in a review. That is too bad - whats the difference between this one and the prototype?

Of course you know what a prototype of a new knife is Dan. The 1st one made and approved as the knife that will be produced. I googled the Combative Edge website and went to the "blog" section here http://combativeedge.squarespace.com/ and read about the auction of the prototype - http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160605282626

For one more dollar you'd have the 1st one to be constructed and approved for production. They're usually marked (or not) as such. They are highly collectible down the road.

For instance, I believe it was the prototype of the Hinderer XM-24, raffled off for $4K  Not too shabby huh. :D

I thought perhaps the entire run of 50 could also be considered prototypes too (depending on your point of view), well I guess that doesn't make much sense but thanks for clearing that up for me!

I agree that would have been a great purchase! I'm sure that XM-24 is worth a little more than $4 today! ;)

The auction or the blog said that the logo on the SALUS prototype was different. That XM-24 proto sold this summer and it was $4 grand - not $4 dollars.
