Video: ESEE 4

I scored one off the exchange. I am very impressed! It is my third ESEE and won't be the last.

Congrats on the new knife. My ESEE 4 has become my favorite blade and is the reason why I will keep ordering ESEE products. I do want to get another sheath for it though.

Good on ya Dan ! The 4 is my favorite Esee. To me, it all comes together in the 4. Blade/handle ratio , blade thickness/length , micarta handle , and kydex sheath. All the things I want in a bush knife. I went and bought three of them: two regular's like yours , and a desert tan one. Hope you get good use out of it in the Aussie bush ! :)

Thanks guys.

I just can't believe I didn't come to ESEE cutlery sooner!

Absolutely right hiwa - best balance of everything, this knife! I like the "extra" thickness - it suits the many uses for which it will hold, and I love the tactically versatile sheath/molle system, as a whole.

I thought the tactical nature of the black blade on grey micarta was just beautifully (rather, tactically) well done... BUT having seen some tan coloured ones I'm keen to get another (haha!).

I'm planning to use it everywhere, so once it gets enough field time, I'll do up a follow up - although, I'm sure you guys know already how awesome this blade's performance is going to be :)

Hoping to get some good pics with an Aussie touch, soon!

ManOfMisery - really? Just out of curiosity, what's wrong with the sheath, from your point of view? Interested to hear people's experiences.

Hi DoctorDan -

Nice review - thank you for taking time to make it and post it.

Do you think that ESEE purposely puts a little rust on the edge just to make you go cut something rather than making it a safe-queen? :D (j/k)

You have to love cats, huh? Mine would always walk up on the newspaper when I was trying to read it.

ESEE would be a great name for a cat - I'll remember that if we ever get another one.

best regards -

mqqn

Well, all the really successful YouTube videos have a cat in them... :D
That's why I didn't edit him out :P

Hey mqqn! Thanks - haha, yeah, true - bit of rust just begs the blade to be used - I should have said that!

OMG, Esee is a cool name for a cat! Then you could name all his/her kittens (if they have any) Rat 1, Rat2, Rat3,.... the runt of the litter would no doubt be "Izula"

Great video, and all cats have to be in the center of what ever you are doing....gotta love em. If i may ask though, what kind of pack was that in the background? Looks very close to the 5.11 rush 24 but had a few more compression straps.

They're the platatac range of bags - highly rated. Although pricey, they're VERY customizable. I have the medic pack (usually retails $280, i think...). Being in the army I can find them a bit cheaper,... (www.platatac.com.au)
Internal hard plate with just as many molle straps, an the rear/backing's sponge / support system is fantastic - COMFORT PLUS. I have 2 pouches on the outside - sure they're side by side, but i find it works great for what I do. This leaves the sides open for other attachment options (holster pouches / knives / etc).
I especially rate the BlackHawk range of pouches. VERY high quality and always that little bit extra in terms of features.

I will hopefully get a chance to do a gar review on this, also. Stay tuned...
