With the rise in popularity lately of Hinderer Knives we have had a ton of phone calls, emails and private messages from folks interested in buying a Hinderer but unfamiliar with the different terms for the finishes. We put this video together while we had enough stock to be able to explain it. We hope it will help!

Nice video ... I had several people ask me the same question after posting some pictures ... I think you having each knife together to let people see and compare will explain it more clearly.

Do you still carry Chris Reeve knives? Noticed you only really push Hinderer products...

Battle Bronze XM-24 in my future!

I almost bought one just now but prefer the stonewash blade (battle bronze and blue always come with working finish blades) so just went the standard stonewash route first.

Stonewash rules ;)
I would tend to agree with you with what I’ve seen so far.
The giant stonewashed M390 Spearpoint blade on my Full Track was something to behold, along with the rest of it. Also my new Stonewashed 3.0 Slicer is beautiful. I’ve got 30+ ZTs and other stonewashed knives and they don’t quite look like Hinderer’s stonewash. Beautiful finish.
My new 3.5 M390 is Working Finish, which I bought for the Battle Blue - I could’ve skipped the Working Finish blade.
Working Finish has a massive cool factor, but it isn’t necessarily nice to look at. Or, maybe it’s the Swedge grind that isn’t nice to look at combined with Working Finish.
It’s just proof that we all need to own at least two of each style and finish!
I’d probably get bored of Stonewash if it’s all I had, but it’s definitely the blade finish I prefer.

Hinderer - make Working Finish bodies (Battle Colors) with Stonewash blades (I’ll buy at least two).

Yeah this. Just read this after my post above, lol.

Yes we do! We just can not get them in as often as we get Hinderer. We have a big CRK order that is hopefully coming soon. While I love CRK their order and ship times are much greater than Hinderer, so it makes it very hard for our smaller company to budget and be able to get as many. As we keep growing we will be able to order more and more and our stock of them will stick around a little longer!

Whitty, could you explain why Rick chooses to put out some blades in S35VN vs 20CV?
I have found an XM-24 Tri-way with the Spearpoint grind I want, but the blade is S35VN.
Most all of his newer stuff has been coming with 20CV. Every new Spanto I’ve seen has been 20CV, every Full Track etc. Why the S35VN? Does he sometimes use S35VN for special projects, low volume etc?

The Tri Way 24s haven't been out long, all I've seen is 20CV and Spanto. Where did you find those? I was almost tricked on 2 or 3 sites but the lower price gave it away as an S35VN non Tri Way previous gen every time I thought I saw something different.

Very cool comparison vid. Makes me really want to buy one. It also got me thinking about Chris Reeve Knives and their lack of awesome finishes like this.

Could you imagine how well battle black Umnumzaans would sell. Or a working finish PJ.. or a carbon fiber scaled 21 with battle bronze lock side.

The bead blast on Chris Reeve Knives is great, but Hinderer has been doing some really cool stuff the last few years in this department.
