Hey everybody. I just made a new video, hopefully one of many to come, on the Cold Steel Perfect Balance thrower. It's the first 100 throws of the knife. Not a review. Just a test that I wanted to share.

Comments are welcome. Enjoy!

Cool! Left handed and right handed. I haven't been able to accomplish anything left handed except underhand stuff! That handle breakage will stop if you either put shoe goo or a piece of bicycle inner tube rubber under the scale and then tighten it down. It also stops the raspy ringing when you miss.

I had a feeling, but I wanted to see how long the handles would last straight out of the box. Evidently, not that long.

After I do a review on it, I'll mod it a bit. I figure I'll rivet them in as well.

Thanks for watching!

Very cool video on just drillin 100 throws in various hands, styles.. With the one CS Perfect Balance.

I have been doing something similar but not exactly. My temps have been around zero F almost all Dec, so I have kept my larger CS Sure Balance outside just stuck in a splitter base log, and throw it once or twice a day about 10 times total. No scales to break off like our Perfect Balances, and like you, not really reviewing, but just seeing how it will do outside all winter and throwing it every day no matter what the weather.. Very cool (sometimes cold) fun.

Looking forward to your other vids... I need to learn how to make some. Looks like fun to make them... Thanks!

Thanks for watching, Viper.

The weather's been pretty frigid near me as well, which has slowed down practice and video making.

If when you say "I need to learn how to make some" you're referring to videos, it's easier than it ever has been. Jump in.

I have replaces those CS handle scales with both leather scales and plastic backyard deck material from the "Depot" I like that plastic deck stuff. It is long lasting, waterproof and you can make the grips thicker so the knife can be used as a hiking/chopping bowie without blistering your hands to pieces.

That's exactly what I was referring to. I have an old cheapie DXG pocket sized video camera with a small SD card, but I have no idea how to edit like you and others I've seen. I love seeing you and others move things along adding verbiage, etc.. with editing...

Your 100 throws was fun to watch as it seemed like many of us throwing, sticking, missing from time to time, but all speeded up in places. So maybe I can make a straight long video, but I need to find out how to edit, add written stuff etc..

Anyway, I am lazy sometimes (still need to learn..lol) and watching others is much more fun. Thank you!

Well, if you have a PC, it should have a program called "Windows Movie Maker" which is be bare bones of video editing. I don't use it, but I'm sure it could get the job done.

If you have a Mac, it should come with "iMovie" which is a bit more friendly, and what I use when I'm at home just out of shear convenience. It's very clear and there are tons of tutorials.

The next step up is either "Adobe Premiere" or "Final Cut" which are more along the lines of professional software (both have downgraded options for people like us that aren't making full length features).

OR if you're just feeling lazy, there are plenty of people that make videos that I would suggest, here are just three:

Thanks Ren for the software info and other Vids. I do love watching other's vids, but think it's time to start "jumping in" as you said. However, gonna have to be after the deep freeze were in here in MN.. Dang it was cold the last couple days, so I just threw a few times each day as I let the dog out. I had my wife snap a couple pics of my quick throw today, so I 'll post that in a new thread.

Thanks for the advice and of course, you vids!
