big momma came out and slapped her tail at me, but the little ones cam out shortly after and wanted to check me out. got closer than they should have. beaver tend to be cautious but these little guys were just ten feet away at time.

ETA: I actually recall a story from my father in law, who went fishing with a friend and the friend was sort of 'attacked' by some beavers who I assume didn't enjoy his invasion. Neat little critters though.

Awesome videos. I was minding my own business one fine day, doing a little relaxing fishing for some trout. I was out in the middle of nowhere all by myself. One of those little buggers snuck up on me and slapped his tail. It scared the living daylights out of me. Sounded like somebody had thrown a giant stone into the creek.

Gotta love it. When we were up fishing in Canada, my wife saw a beaver and thought is was a big fish. She cast her Rapala at it with authority! I have seldom moved so fast in a boat! Fortunately, her cast was off, or we might have had some difficult decisions to make. Still, what a big animal it was.
