Video of my close call and a tech question

I'm glad that you survived that crash.

Have you tried renaming the .dat file to .ram, .ra, or .rm to see if it can play?

Just tried, no luck. There has to be some extension. What are some windows media extensions?

You don't want to save that little web-version. Ask the TV station and they'll give you a DVD.

And if they decline, just take out your notebook and start looking around the lobby and mumbling to yourself while taking notes "Hmmmm... hanging light fixture does not meet new seismic requirements.... drinking fountain doesn't comply with ADA... I wonder if this carpeting meets fire codes... and I think this door is an inch to narrow..." and they'll burn a copy for you in exchange for your notes.
:D

I clicked on the netscape and mac users click here link and it worked.

BTW, I could never be a police officer, I think if that would have happened to me, I would have pulled the guy out of his car and emptied my gin into him, for starters.

Well, I was going to do a vidoe capture of it for you, but they've written their code to look for a specific version of Media Player. The correct way is to look for the minimum version. I've got 10, which will play it fine, but they're web weenie needs some re-fresher training. I sent them email. It should be easy to fix. I'll try to remember to check it later this week. If I can grab it, I'll let you know.

BTW - I've been driving 275 to/from work for 5 years. What's gotten into people these past two weeks?

Well, I brought up the Netscape/Mac version and was able to capture the audio, but no video. Micro$oft has it's little bag of tricks out in version 10.

Skyline got it for me. Thanks.

Oh and get this... The guy driving the SUV was cutting a blunt while he was driving.

For those who don't know, right behind the camera is a sharp, pretty much 90° right-hand turn on the interstate. Posted limit is 45, but I've been past by people on the inside lane (I think that's where the cruiser is sitting) going well over 60 on several occasions. Just wanted to point that out to show just how gutsy some of our local LEO's are when duty calls. No one would choose to be standing where they were, but they had to, so they did.

LOL.....posted at the same time....oh well.

Glad to hear you escaped injury...how long did it take till your heart-beat returned to normal?

Don't tell Mr. Cox.

glad to hear you're ok. i hope that guy has the book thrown at him. in the future you may be able to use a program called streambox vcr if you can find it. please post or give me an email if you are able to find it. i think it got pulled off the market because it would let you capture any streaming video.

I'm very glad you're safe, Dennis.
