A video of Reate's "D9"-A

That is awesome, I like that design more than the Horizon. I think the pocket clip could be positioned a little further back, though a lowride clip would work just as well - I'd also suggest using a clip with the screws aligned laterally instead of vertically, so you get a bit more grip purchase from the clip during carry.

Watched the video and didn't see it touched on. Is that a copy of the Lionsteel Rotoblock or a lock bar stabilizer? And either way, is it licensed?

I believe it's just an overtravel stop. I ordered the drop point version of this, can't wait to get my hands on it. All hands-on reviews of it are extremely positive, and I love the design.

It's designed by one of Reate's cooperative designer "Disctrict 9", He gave his authority to Reate to make and sell.

I'm not sure I understand. To be clear, I am not referring to the knife itself, but rather a feature. The disk at the tip of the pocket clip with the tri-wing type design on it, what is its function?

It is just a disk, it has no other function.

On my D9 the disc functions same as the rotoblock feature on some lionsteel knives. You can rotate the disc and it will wedge the lockbar open.

Ah I had no idea, and didn't remember it mentioned in any of the videos I've seen. Very cool.

I just got my D9-A and the disk does not rotate. On my District 9 Storm it does, and it does function like a Rotoblock.

That's pretty interesting that they would remove that feature for the Reate branded version. It certainly does look like it should rotate. Looking forward to some comparison shots of the two versions.

I floated a guess in the review thread that it was to avoid legal issues since the Reate-branded version is "regular production" and more accessible. Keep an eye on the reviews forum, I'm going to do a good comparison over there.

I misunderstood, I don't have a "D9", I have a "District 9" from the first numbered run. It has the rotoblock
