I wanted lightweight and rugged stainless knife and the F1 delivered. Ergonomics are good and the blade is excellent. I have been carrying this knife on backpacking trips and it is a lightweight yet rugged performer. The edge retention is excellent and the handle is durable. My only quibble is the handle is a bit thin for me. But probably would work well with thick gloves/mittens on as the Swedish designers anticipated being a country near the Arctic circle. Overall I think this is an excellent knife for field use.
 
Nice review and I liked the dishwasher tip. Haven't seen that one done before, lol.
 
I could never put one of my knives in the dishwasher. It would be like putting your cat in the washing machine.
 
I don't recommend the dishwasher for any knife. I was just messing around because I didn't think it would have any affect on the F1 (it didn't). The F1 is probably the only fixed blade knife I own that I'd do that to. The blade and handle are very tough. It's a robust knife.
