Looking for videos that show work in progress at major American production knife makers. Large volume, medium and small volume makers such as Buck, Reeve, Randall, Tops, ZT etc . . . .anyone.

Search YT for Dozier (a whole series) and Buck (old footage). Chris Reeve as well. Lots out there, really.

A guy named Solscud on YouTube has a four-part factory tour of Benchmade that's almost 50 minutes total. It's very in depth but it is a 10 year old video.

I bought the Dozier DVD a few years back. It’s pretty neat to see all the machines and stations that Bob uses to produce his knives. However, the bad thing is that there is no instructional audio or commentary. Instead, there is a loop of the same song over and over and over… and over.

I saw this factory video from We Knife recently and was really impressed by their facility. There are a lot of great knife makers here with factories that don't look nearly as clean and ordered. Also I didn't realize how large their operation is; they must manufacture for more than their 3 house brands.

THIS is the best video series I've ever found as far as showing what it's like in the Chris Reeve manufacturing shop. It's really cool. It's a pretty old video, from back when they were turning the one-piece knives, but really shows how much care they put into each knife.

When I was a little boy, I was pretty enthralled by the Buck 119. When I got my first one, it bit me pretty good one day, and I've always had a healthy respect for them.

Anyhow, enjoy...

Randall, old, but the shop is still closer to that than a big factory. They still grind on wheels -

Not sure if this fits your topic or not, but as they’re the steel supplier for a large portion of knife steels used now, I figured maye it would be of interest. Niagara Specialty Metals finish rolling Crucible CPM-S35vn:

They do, they're a major OEM although they maybe aren't as well known for that aspect of their business as say Reate or QSP or Bestech. It's kind of like Kizer, who also does some OEM work, where their own product line is extensive, impressive, and accessible enough to create the majority of their reputation. A company like Reate's reputation is more reliant on their OEM work, since that's their real bread and butter.
