Hey guys, I have seen this and know someone who has one... he loves it. Anyone have any thoughts/comments? It looks amazing for the price, and has TONS of jigs you can get for it, including jigs for knives, scissors, drill bits, planer blades, etc. You can check it out here (click "english" in the top right hand side of the screen)
I have a few draw backs on this type of belt sander though, so that's why I wanted your thoughts. 1. I have a 2x42 craftsman belt sander and have REALLY grown used to the 2" wide belts, especially for heavy re-profiling work or grinding down the "returns" on kitchen knives. how would the 1" wide belts work for this type of thing? 2. It looks like they sharpen with the edge into the belt (i.e. edge leading) which has always made me nervous. I know that a lot of people do this with no issues... I guess if you were to strop the blade then you would just reverse it and do edge trailing on that step. Thoughts?
Here are some videos of it.... although they are in french, you can get the general idea. You can translate the page by clicking "English" in the top right hand side of the screen. Thanks for your input in advance.
