Viele II question

Hello, I just recieved a calypso jr and a viele II in the mail today. The Caly is a SHARP lil knife. anyways my I noticed that on the "bolster" of my Viele there is a "103". What does that stand for? thanks for your time and and info.

Hi,generral spaeking ,first 1000 spyderco knives of a model has *** number ,
not include limited model .

For example , C76 has limited 500 .
 
The 103 is a Spyderco Collector's club number. Approximatey the first 200 of a new model carry them. Some collectors have dropped out of the program and some numbers were never assigned to a collector, so the numbered knives are sold by dealers as regular stock. Some make a point of noting that the knife is numbered, and may even charge a premium for it. Others just ship them without mentioning that they are numbered. On some models, the entire first batch will be numbered. Do not believe that to be the case with the Viele II, but could be wrong.
