Hey All... I'm having trouble finding much information or reference pictures for #15's made during Vietnam. Specifically Solingen 15's. Were there not many made? Were they not popular? I can find plenty of 14's but not many 15's.
I've recently acquired one that's on its way to me. I was hoping to see others to help me verify I got the "Real McCoy". I've been a student of Randalls for some time now but I'm always learning and anyone can get taken... even me... LOL!
I'll post pics when I get it.

This stainless Solingen 15 [click here] is the ‘real McCoy.’ I mail ordered it from Randall in the 1960’s, paying less than $30 if I remember correctly. The sheath is a replacement, bought when the original rotted (in the 1970’s) while stored with my uniforms in a wet basement. I paid an extra dollar or two for the waxed version, and cut the tie-down tab from the bottom because I never used it.
(I had two deployments to Vietnam between 1964 and 1966)

Mine is not Stainless but from the pictures I've seen it looks the same except the sheath has rivets. It should be here Friday.

Yes, my original sheath had rivets.
Am looking forward to seeing pictures of your knife, sheath, and stone.

Finally got it!
Thoughts?

A great knife!
Very similar to my stainless 15 (except your brass hilt is thicker than mine, and your finger grooves are deeper). Assuming your stone and sheath are original, it appears that your knife was made between 1967 and 1969. [click for picture]
