What are the differences between the two?

Handles, sheaths, etc....

Are either of these the issue ones? If not, what if being issued now?

Suggestions on which one to take to the sandbox.

Thanks,

I don't have either of these but I've been checking them out for a while. The Field Grade is the Lagana hawk that was used in Nam. The Tactical is the one in limited use by the Army. The Tactical has an indestuctable acetal handle instead of the traditional wood found on the Field Grade. If I don't take one of my kukris I'll be taking the Tactical Grade over there, as you don't need to worry about breaking the handle on the Tactical.
