Any one have any experience with Fjallraven clothing ? I recently purchased one of their caps and now I'm tempted to get one of their shirts.

Hipster chic. You are paying a premium for the label.

That said the G-1000 poly/cotton cloth is fairly rugged stuff and I have not come across quality control issues.

I would rate their stuff as durable, mostly functional, and conservatively styled. They are more worried about making things last than making them as light as possible or incorporating the latest gee-whiz features.

Just got an Oban jacket on the recommendation of a buddy. Compared to other European brands, they are much more reasonable in price. Seems really durable, and like it will wear in nicely. yes there is some styling over above whats needed, but not much. Lots of movement in the arms and back, and it seems to be sized to layer a bit, which is good.

Used to be Swedish now it's made in a few different countries. I was going to buy one until I found that model was made in China.

Yeah I was surprised at that, however, their QC seems to be good. Unfortunately there are very few brands left that haven't shipped their work out to cheaper countries. Even my favorite British brand ' Paramo ' is made abroad. All the big brands such as North Face etc are made abroad, you just have to hope they closely monitor their QC.

Greetings,

I don't have any of their upper gear (jackets/shirts), but I did inadvertently by a pair of their insulated pants (Arktis IIRC)...one of those 'proceed to checkout to see price' deals and I wound up buying instead of just checking the price. The deal was good enough that I wound up keeping them. See the photos.

In any event, some of their gear (like their pants) are either designed to be tailored or come only in certain lengths with snap fittings to set the length...not a deal breaker, but a characteristic to aware of.

That being said, I keep an eye out for their pants (Vidda, Barents, Keb) on the Clymb and Moosejaw...if I could snag a couple pairs at reduced prices, I would. Their G1000 material is pretty tough, spark resistant (nice if you're going to be around flame), unique pocket layouts for outdoors stuff like maps and whatnot...

I've got some Vidda pro trousers and really like them. Fit is very good, well made, design is well thought out.

I bought a pair of Fjallraven shorts for hiking and liked them so much I bought. They are pricey and the sizing can be confusing, but they are very well-made and durable.

Fjällraven has a very good reputation over here in Europe. I use my Greenland and Greenlad Winter Jacket and i love both.
So, from my side: :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for all the feedback guys, much appreciated, think I'll definitely invest in a shirt when I have the funds.

The Greenland was the one I was interested in. Years ago in Sweden my buddy had one. Now when I could afford one I found its made in China. Found an an army surplus anorak for a fraction of the price. Similar fabric. I did use Fjällräven wax to treat it.

I have a couple of their products, pants and shirts, and I am super happy with them! :thumbup:

I have trouser, jackets etc. from Fjällräven. Excellent Quality, extremely durable.
