Views on the Chinook 3

I've only had my Chinook 3 for 6-8 months and I've been carry it since. I must say I'm overall impressed with this knife and love how the beefy folder feels in the hand. I'll admit that I havent really put it through a lot of "hard use" yet but so far like I said, i'm impressed with it. The blade came razor sharp and seems to hold its edge pretty well. I do also carry either a leatherman wave or vic farmer for the small cutting tasks (or very utility).

This is my first Chinook, I havent handled the orginal or v2. Hell it's my first spyderco, but I'm happy with it! I'm sure some members who have been EDC'ing for a long time will come along and provide you with some better details/views on the knife.

I've got the older model, with the hollow grind, and it's a really awesome knife. Love it for camping, and I even carry it sometimes at work if I'm going to have a big install to do.

A really strong folding knife:thumbup:.
I like the looks very much and it has great opening and closing action with the mid back lock.
I don't like the rounded belly so i prefer his brother the manix.
Same build both other shape.

It's 1 of the strongest spyderco's but also one of the heaviest.
If you don't mind the weight its really ok.
The rounden belly is personal but not for me although i really like the looks.

There are many that prefer the 1 and chinooks because they have a stronger blade.
That will be true but they won't have the slicing capability as the 3 with the ffg blade.
It could be used as a skinner knife although its designed as sd.
