Viking Axe Issue

I just received my viking axe in the mail today, and it's amazing, but I can't slide the head up the handle. Should I shave down the handle to try and fit it, or is there something else I should do?

Yea, just remove some off the wood. I always remove the screw and sand the handle when i order a tomahawk from CS and I beleive the viking axe is the exact same way.
