Good day everyone!


Got used to the taste of making viking axes the last time, and I couldn't stop myself to make a few more.
All are forged of 5160 and have full grind scandi edges.

Btw. these are available

1. The length of the head is 19 cm, the edge is 13 cm long. The eye of the axe is 6.5x1.6 cm.
It weights 780 grams.

2. The length of the head is 19 cm, the edge is 12.5 cm long. The eye of the axe is 4.5x1.6 cm.
It weights 800 grams.

3. The length of the head is 15.5 cm, the edge is 11 cm long. The eye of the axe is 4.5x1.4 cm.
It weights 500 grams.

Question about your procedure. Are you hot slitting the eye and drifting? Milling? I assume you are not wrapping and welding?

I am wrapping and welding only larger damascus axes, which I can not make otherwise. That it really hard you know.
With these I cheat a bit I drill a few 12 mm holes into it, than I open the eye out when it is hot with chisels and rods.
