I love old locks and cool pre-industrial revolution mechanicals. And whatever you had to do to make it was probably the same as would have been done hundreds of years ago.

Did Vikings actually use a similar (clearly unpickable) lock?

I saw some interesting wooden locks from ancient egypt.

Yeah, not counting an angle grinder which is a really fast file and saw combined, I used the traditional methods.
