Hi folks well I want to show you all this pointy knife I made I love the show Vikings so I thought I should try my hand at a Seax this is what I came up with for my other knives I will wait till I have a pro photo to show them as I still can not take a good Pic as you see here. but I am not having Coop shoot this one at blade so this is as good as it is going to get on this one. I would love to know what you think good or bad so the next time I try my hand at a Seax I can draw from your input. Laddered W's a first for me bronze and amber stag it is a take down the ball on the end is threaded and locks it all up tight.saex1.jpgseax2.jpgseax3.jpgseax4.jpgseax5.jpg

Nice! That pommel is really a thing of beauty.

I like "historical" pieces like this.

Kind regards,

Jos

Dave,

Something different ....and i think it is very retro-cool!

Now, you just need one of those horned helmets to wear at Blade......

Thanks all. Bill I have been thinking about making one of those helmets out of damascus but no horns I was thinking a nose guard and copper quarter panels .

Laddered W is so lovely! Having grown up near a Norwegian settlement I can really appreciate this style. There are modern day Vikings I kid you not.

Well you asked for input so I will say that I can see the same issue/problem with this seax that I have with most of your knives... it isn't in a flat rate box with our address on it! We're looking forward to seeing you and your blades next week.

That's truly AWESOME Dave!! A blade style that changed the world with a new age twist...definitely out of the box and right up my alley:) Mesmerizing steel you've got going on there too!

Really cool you've been thinking about doing a helmet as well. I've been kicking around the idea of making an old school armour gauntlet out of Turkish Twist for the last couple of years but just haven't found the time to do it. Honestly I kind of expected the urge to subside by now, but instead it just keeps gaining momentum in my head and screaming louder by the day! I guess some ideas just refuse to be ignored :D

Thanks Mike its the ones that you cant get out of your head that end up getting passed around the room and talked about and how cool would it be to have a gauntlet when it was time to throw down the gauntlet. see you soon.

Wickedly pointy, I love it! diggin all the cool little details on the blade like the pommel out of W's and the textured spacers. Great job, have a blast in Atlanta.
