Viking Tactics knives???

Agreed, the name seems to be capitalizing on the tacticool theme..

But having said that, Hogue has never disappointed me on the quality of their products. So if you like the knife then I say go for it.

Viking Tactical makes great gear. Hogue makes great knives. I'm sure its a good one. I don't have one but wouldn't hesitate if one crossed my path.

Eye-of-the beholder of course . . .
If it is good for you, then, I am happy for you.

However, I am not a fan of that deeply sculpted handle or that blade profile in a "tactical" knife. . . .but that is just me.

Solely from an esthetic point of view, I like the Randall Made #1 blade profile with their "Border Patrol" handle shape. If you want to get a little flashy, ask for the saw tooth grind without the saw teeth. . . .it looks great. On a budget, I think Cold Steel makes a near copy of this knife.

Another budget tactical fixed blade that strikes my fancy is the Ka-Bar Extreme Survival knife, a copy of the WW-II USMC Kabar in modern materials. I even think there is a smaller version and a huge version, so take your pick.

I also like the looks of the Chris Reeve Green Beret in either the 7' or 5' versions . . .and their Pacific model too. All three have a great tactical look (to me). Additionally, I would not hesitate to buy any of them, even at a higher than MSRP premium, to give to an active-duty warfighter for EDC in a combat zone.

The blade shape wasn't intended to be "tactical" (whatever that means). As noted above, it's essentially a folding version of the "Patriot" that Lamb designed for/with TOPS, and is intended for general EDC.

Viking Tactical I would think would be more in the axe market.

Sorry, my 20/150 vision failed me again. Didn't catch that the OP showed a folder.

However, I will let stand my remarks on my personal esthetic appreciation of the blade profile and handle shape.

I am sure that there is a plethora of stout folders out there, many at "affordable" price points.

VTAC is Kyle Lamb. Look into his background, he has no need to try to be 'tacticool.'
Don't know how I missed it, didn't realize this was the same Viking Tactics..

Yea, Kyle does some great work. Had a M&P 9mm VTAC a couple years ago. Good shooting little pistol..

Monofletch Monofletch I do think its a nice looking knife, just wish it had a different opening mechanism.

Kyle Lamb, Larry Vickers, Paul Howe, Thomas Payne, and many more, all good guys, worth googling if you never came across the names.
It's a nice knife, if you can't find the exact model, there is a similar Hogue auto model - 34450 EX-04 but I'm not sure if they still making it...
