Village Khukuris

The village models are just as durable as regular line but not as pretty. Price will be 1/2 to 2/3 that of regular model. We guarantee them for life, too.

Search here and in the HI archive for : village OR villager

You'll find lots of comments.

Some old village khuks really came from a village smith.

Most recent discussion is re the Birgorkha kamis making
'less finished' blades due to many requests here for these.

IIRC, there was once reluctance to produce village models because they were "unfinished". To them, it was like building a house without any siding on it.

So, having a village model is really a chance to get your feet wet into the kamis' art - to get an inexpensive khukuri and dress it up.

Hopefully we'll see more and more of these as time goes by.

I still can't believe all the 20" AK villagers that have been flying off the shelf lately. Amazing...just amazing.

DC II,
The H.I.Village models are the absolute best buy of any of the H.I.Khukuri's!!!! The don't really come in "models" like the regular line, but I don't care!!!!
I have 4 of them now and have given 2 or 3 away to close friends and family.:D
I think the 16" to 18" are the best value with the most bang for the buck you can get when buying any khukuri!!!!:D  :D  :D
And the village models come closest to having the real convex edge as well!!!!:D  :D

By the way, Welcome to the Cantina, Psycho Ward, or whatever it may happen to be today.:D

Thank you for the welcome, Yvsa! I didn't know they were so "rare". So I guess I'll have to watch out for blems along with the Village khukuris. The khuks knocked off a couple of expensive camping knives on my list. Thanks, Himalayan Imports:D !

You're welcome.:D

Actually, they're not really all that "rare," they just take spells of showing up and when they do you have to be super, super fast!!!!
The best thing to do is to have an e-mail draft made up with Villager in the subject line and a short note in the message area stating that you want the villager.
I usually cut and paste the thread address in the message before I send it and state which one I want if there's more than one up for grabs.;)
Did I mention that I have 4 of them now?;) :footinmou ;)
I Love the Villagers!!!!:D

Yvsa, four villagers. You must be one of the luckiest guys in your neighbourhood. I have been tryinig to get at least two villagers since the Jurassic Age.

Everybody beats me to the draw. I must be the slowest computer keyboardist in the entire block.

Actually, 16-18inch villagers are just great for me. Will keep my eyes open all the time.

I recall those villagers used to sell for $30 each. :)
