I got in some village models so I'll call this number one.

It is 13.5 inches and weighs just about one pound. The fit is ok, good for a villager but nothing like an HI khukuri, and the finish looks better in the pix than it really is. Grind marks are visible but the finish is actually pretty good for a villager. The blade is hardened up to around 56 to 57 Rc and has a good sharp edge. (two hairs!) The handle is very beautifully grained saatisal and nicely done. Very good handle for a villager. But, I am about 90% certain the tang is partial even though the handle has buttcap and keeper. I think that is a nail sticking out rather than a mushroomed tang but I have been fooled before. At any rate, we will send it with HI guarantee so if the handle proves to be a problem just send it back and we will replace it or refund purchase price.

Karda and chakma are useless.

Scabbard is surprisingly good for a village model. Not up to the sarki with no name standards but very well done. Frog is riveted and not the 100 year HI superfrog but this is a village model.

We will deliver this not so ugly little villager to your door for $45.

Call or email and ask for number one village model if interested.

Phew... boy did I get lucky and just in the nick of time. Just got back from the post office where I sent the rest of my money to settle up with the last order from Uncle Bill!

13.5" and one pound is a real nice minimal but useful size khuk for car and camping or a backpacker or a woman.

Kind of like the old USMC Kabar. Not a dedicated fighting knife though it's very good for that, instead rather a combat/ survival tool.

Villagers are also great because they aren't pretty and you needn't worry about scuffing them up, and so on.

Rusty,

I read your post twice and I'm still not sure if you are saying you want it?! It's just like the one I got a couple months ago that is chopping everything in sight at my house.

Well forumites,
I waited, I waited and waited.
I went off-line and went for a beer.
I went on-line again and this poor little knife needed a daddy who would love it. If Uncle accepts my offer (there's mail in your box, Uncle), it may be too late for this khurkuri. It may well be on its way to England...

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", and I wouldn't trade my "Beloved Pet" for any top of the line HIK's!
The "worthless" C&K's can be made more useful: I ground the Karda on some into an awl and polished the Chakma up and hardened it with a Butane(sp?)lighter. To do that it must be shinny and smooth for proper use as intended. Heat carefully until the color is that of straw. Then the tools will be useful.

The blade is smaller than the BAS and much more useful, at least to me, and I've done lots with mine!

Nay,Good Sir, I didn't mean for rough, but for size, shape and weight....but otherwise made as a top of the line knife.

And Dan & Rusty are correct. You can do a lot of work with a khukuri this size although it may not be as fast or effiecent as a larger khukuri.
This is very close to the little "balance" village khukuri I managed to get a deal on once.

And it is the one I often take when I am going to be in the public's view, like at the Nature Conservancy where I used too do a lot of walking.
And it's not Near as Scary as the Aitor Chuchilla Del Monte Spanish Army Issue Knife with its recurve blade and sawtooth back that I used to carry on those outings. The little village model also does a better job of light chopping.
