Here is what a village man would probably take if he were going off to serve with the Gorkhas. This is a 16 inch village model which preceeded the British Army Service design by a hundred years or two. 16 inches overall, about 3/8 thick and weighs in at about 1&1/4 pounds. Fit is good and finish is fair for a villager although you can see grindmarks. Good hard, sharp edge, maybe 58 Rc, and tough blade. Standard buttcap which I hate and it will dig into your hand if you have a big hand but this is what we have.

Scabbard is ok and frog is an excellent quality HI superfrog. Karda and chakma are worthless.

We will deliver this village style BAS to your door for an even $50 and will send it with the HI guarantee.

Call or email if interested.

You guys are too fast for me. I wish there was a way to make my computer beep at me when a deal like this comes up.

Josh,
Too bad someone didn't warn you sooner - no physical contact is necessary for transmission of the virus. Mere exposure to this forum can result in a severe case of HIKV. Sorry to break the bad news this way

"Luke, give in to the Dark Side"

It wouldn't be so bad to have the virus if I had a nice 1.5 lb pointy piece of steel to show for it.

The Villager BAS arrived today and am I impressed. As I hold it in my hand and turn it over, I see the grind marks and other, what you might call downmarks against it. But all I see is another work of art provided by HI and Uncle Bill. Just looking at it and then realizing that this blade came literally halfway across the globe to get to my door. I am humbled by the further fact that roughly a month or two ago this blade was being held up by a man for review and inspection in the hopes of it being accepted so that he might receive some payment for his hard work and be able to get some luxuries for his family or food. This alone makes me proud to be making ALL of my further purchases from HI and Uncle Bill.

Oh yeah.. PS Hey Uncle, the next time you wrap a kukhri for me for shipment...could you use the Classified section for Job Listings??
Thanks

Josh,

Uncle Bill didn't wrap it in the Swinging Singles section again, did he?
