I'm amazed at how the khuk was secured onto his pouch from the back.

A lefty? refreshing to see a villager's in a battlefield.

Very cool pic! But the ornate sheath would indicate something other than a Villager. Maybe someone will recognize it from DOTD.

Looks like a falcata with a khukuri handle. I forgot the name for that type of khukuri.... :o
Maybe a bhairab???

I was thinking how would he draw the blade quick?

It's short enough that it looks like he could just take it out. There's a video of a guy on youtube drawing short swords with his left hand with the sword on his left side right from the top with absolutely no problem whatsoever.

From the way it's mounted, I'd say it's drawn left handed. If you need it fast, this has some advantages. You present the blade spine first upon the draw, block your opponent (even if you just whack him across the snout with the spine, it'll hurt), then let the blade rotate in hand to present the edge.

That seems to be a popular way to carry the kukri for British officers in the Gurkha regiment. I remember seeing a picture of Prince Harry carrying his that way (heck, that pic may be of him).

Cool-that's what Khuks are for! use and protection, hope he makes his enemies bleed some.
