Here is a typical tough little village model. It is about 14 inches, 3/8 thick and weighs about a pound. The fit is okay but finish is village typical -- grindmarks all over the blade. And, even though the handle sports a thin buttcap this is a partial tang. It is destined to fail -- in a month or five years we don't know. The good news is it's an easy fix. Some epoxy. And for those who are serious drill a 1/8 hole thru and pin the handle before it fails. Edge is 58 or 59 Rc and took a few hairs off the back of my hand. It will do some work. Karda and chakma are worthless. Scabbard is pretty decent and is equipped with HI superfrog.

Take this one for $45 delivered to your door but don't complain when the handle loosens.

Call or email if interested.

Dayum, it ain't gone yet!?!?!?!?

Bro how can you tell it has a partial tang? There also appears to be a keeper on the thin butt cap?

That might play a part in some of the ebay khukuri's if someone like me didn't know what they were looking for.

That is no keeper you see, Bro. It's the head of a nail that's been driven into the handle to hold the buttcap on.

The partial tang will work okay for awhile -- there's 1000s of them at work in Nepal every day. But, that handle will loosen after a time unless we get very, very lucky.

If I liked a knife with a partial tang I'd buy it and use it but I'd be waiting for the handle to get loose on it some day.

It'll go. Weekends are always slow.

Remember, boys, it was a knife similar to this one (only a lot uglier) that I sent up to Cliff Stamp for destruction testing.

Result: Cliff could not destroy the knife and it beat EVERYTHING that it went up against.

What if I threw in a free topi?

Awww what the hell!
I'll take it, pin the handle and throw it in one of the vehicles for permanent emergency khukuri.
Who knows it may outlast the youngest of us.

Osiyo Bro.
This little khukuri is about
57-58 Rc so you're only about one point off on your old file Bro.
That's pretty close and good enough for me.

The handle has been pinned and taken down a bit in a couple of places and the pointy butt cap ground off.
I was gonna make it a bit more pretty, but what the hey, it went into the car as is and I am sure that it will outlast the car and me as well.
The little knife has a really nice balance to it.
