Got this one on Monday from this sale http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=323450 stat was 10oz actual weight is 18oz which I think is now my lightest khukuri..very fast, love this light weight...more of a fighting weight than a backyard chopper. Handle is a little big and I have big hands so will bring it down some then will test followed by an etch

Nice snag Sweet!:D Me Likey Villagers!:cool: I bragged up my Sgt. Karka Villager here. As you can see I'm already very fond of it in spite of its aesthetic beauty.:D
 
Really nice looking knife did you do somthing to the finish or did it come with the brushed look :D

I missed your post...good write-up...I need to pick me up one of those Chainpuri handles, the last one I got was a Chitlangi about 4 years ago ( I think) and your handle looks like a beauty!

nope that's the way I recieved it....the Villagers are my favorite due to the brushed look of the blade also the silver colored fittings and more of an unfinished handle which provides for me an excellent grip with the option of being able make them look perdy
 
I wonder how they do that brushed look? Do any of you knife-maker sorts have any idea? Is is the grinding or the forging?

the sandpapering? :confused:
 
Very cool! I think the brushed look comes from Sand paper. Something between 250 and 400 grit. My 15" AK looked like that while I was removing rust and pitch from it. Now it has a Satiny almost rough mirror finish. :) Those Villagers look like great project blades. ;)
