I just got my villager sirupati from 6/17. It is a nice "little" knife. It is about 12 1/3 inches long, the blade is just over 8 inches, and it has a horn handle. The knife itself weighs about 10 1/2 oz.
I was surprised that it does not have any Kami marks. Anyone else get one from this batch?
Any idea who might have made these? The one in the photo from that date is by Kumar, but this one has no markings.

Possible it may have been made by Sgt. Karka. He doesn't mark his knifes but if it was made by him you have nothing to worry about. It's good for 100 years.

If you were lucky enough to get a Karka...Congrats! He makes *great* blades!

I got one of these little siruptais also. Mine is also unmarked and sounds very similar to yours except it has a wooden handle. The wood is very dark, almost black and combined with the white metal fittings it's one sharp looking little khukri.

You can't beat those "little" 12"villager babies. Little, being a relative term here in the cantina. Tell the judge that it's just a "little" knife :D

I like the knife. The blade is not finished qite as nicely as the other HI villagers that I have gotten, but the handle and blade line up properly and it has nice lines. I like the look of the white metal, and the handle looks good after 4 coats of Watco Danish Oil. It was a bargain.

I will see how well the blade takes an edge as soon as the finish is fully dry.
The Watco Danish oil finish has served to prevent cracking in my other Khukuris with horn handles. The Amtrak Sirupati that I finished months ago has not developped any new cracks and the shrinkage of the horn has stopped.

I do not plan to "test" this blade by stressing it. It is 5/16" thick at the bolster, but the Blade is narrow near the cho - only 1 1/8" wide. It has a distal taper that aids the balance of the knife. I do not expect to have to cut down trees with a small blade like this.
