I love that it comes with a genuine Himalayan Imports sheath. The knife cuts fantastic, and you have the best sheath to put it in. I love my 2 but they didn't come with sheaths. A high quality sheath is very important, and this one has one.

Depending on what kind of tools you have, it's not hard to make a wooden sheath for a knife like this, since the blade is relatively straight. It's harder to make a sheath for the more traditional khukuri shape, because you have to account for the bend. Too wide and you get a loose sheath. Too straight and the blade won't go in and out.

Easiest method: Sandwich the blade between two slabs of wood. Increase the opening along the spine edge with a narrow strip of wood. When everything fits right, glue the edges together, then reinforce with an epoxy-soaked hemp wrap at the ends and in the middle.

Here's an example of a Barong sheath done this way. I got the image from the internet, but it's very similar to a sheath that I restored the same way with epoxy and a hemp wrap. Except, being compulsive, I used a lot more hemp in reinforcing my sheath.

Me too. I need to wrap it tho. Mine had been wrapped with rattan strips so thats prolly what i will restore it with.
