whats the differenses on the villager knifes and the standard knifes?
just the blade finish?

They usually leave hammer marks on the blade and the handle is usually not polished(might be a bit rough) as with a standard. Some of us like them because we don't have to fret the wear marks and dings. Like when I just finished an hour of "therapy" out on the wood pile.

ok:)
no differense in quality and hardness of the edge?
this is how I understand it...

Unfinished makes it easier on the heart when you get scratches on the blade. But a rougher finish gives more microscopic hiding places for moisture, and therefore rust. Forge-scale left on is almost a protective layer, but the roughness gives even more hiding places for moisture. A full polish and finish makes it look all pretty, shiny, and you don't wanna scratch it up, but it makes it harder for moisture to stick somewhere microscopic...

in any of those cases, proper maintenance is the real way to prevent rust and keep it lookin good, no matter what lookin good means to you.

in terms of the edge quality, there should be no big difference except the slight differences that come with them being handmade
