Someone was admiring my Ang Khola and asked about it. I wasn't able to give much background on Vim Kami (who I understand from JayGoliath was the master behind my Ang Khola) and felt a bad that I couldn't pay enough respect to him. Anyone know how he's doing? I assume he's no longer with HI based on the fact that I read so little about him in the forums.

Shhhh...Vim is one of the mods here at HI.:smiley_simmons:

You might want to ask Auntie.

Vim is one of the few that was very lucky to have learned from the Great Bura. He made me a custom Dui Chirra that's bar none.
Along with the old tiger, both favors thick construction.
His Tamang sets the standard.

The last I heard, Vim was still working for HI, I think at the old shop.
He appears in the photos posted from Auntie Yangdu's most recent trip to Nepal.

If I'm not mistaken, Vim can be seen in the video made by Howard Wallace. Vim is the kami in the video who repeatedly heats up the tang end of a blade and hammers it.

Doing a forum search for Vim will bring up some information about him.

JayGoliath, thanks again. You're right, that first blade Howard is wielding is a monster of a khukuri.

Steve Tall, thanks for the link to the video. Now how in the world did you identify him of all people to be Vim?!
