VIMCRU20 Steel. New ultra super steel?

Duane Dwyer has made a custom folder or two out of it. It is a ball bearing steel from CPM. I can't find any composition numbers on it yet.

Here's some rough info on the series:

VIM CRU 20
Vacuum Induction melted CPM bearing steel
Attainable hardness 64/65 HRc
Carbon 1.35%
Chrome 3.75%
Molybdenum 10.5%
Tungsten 6.25%
Vanadium 2.0%

Awsome material - should make excellent knife blade - not a stainless steel.
Material not readily available at this point in time.

CPM VIM CRU 20 - AISI M62, Carpenter Micro-Melt 62 (PM), Crucible CPM Rex 20 and CPM VIM CRU 20 like Hardheart said. High speed steel, Cobalt free.

Thanks fellas. It sounds like a very interesting steel. I know Strider also did some knives in Nitinol or whatever it's called and that's supposed to be incredible so I was wondering what super material they were using this time.

I think it stains pretty easily. I've seen one and it had fingerprint stains on it. It was either that or Rex 121.
