I am looking at replacing my roadhouse with a vindicator. Is the recurve on the vindicator as much as the commander? I use a KME with the standard stones and don't want to have to buy extra stuff to be able to sharpen a knife.
Thanks

You shouldn't need to buy any extra stuff unless your sharpening stones are over 1" wide. WHen you look down the angle of the recurve correctly, it's a straight line.

I really really want to say the Vindicator has less than the Commander. I no longer have either but liked the Vindicator more due it it having less of a recurve.

it's less than the commander. i didn't measure it to be sure but it's obvious. i don't find either hard to sharpen.

Sounds like I should be ok. I'm not sure why the Vindicator is not a more popular knife. I started out wanting a sheepdog but when I saw how cheap the Vindicator can be had I thought it may be worth a try. How had can it be its still an Emerson?

Popularity is probably from different tastes. I have a friend that loves his, possibly the only recurve he has. I didn't like the design. Different strokes for different folks.

I love mine. Way less recurve that the commander and a much more versatile blade overall. I don't really consider the commander a great piercing knife due to the obtuse tip, but the Vindicator is well off in that role. It's no gentleman Jim in terms of "stabby" but a very strong usable front end. Its one of my favorite EKI models overall and is very all terrain. I don't know why it is so under the radar still. I choose it over the commander, Patriot, and 15 as a recurve carry.
