Vinegar Patina On Top of Stonewash?

Hi folks! I just bought a Kabar Becker BK62 Kephart which has a high carbon 1095CrV blade with a factory stonewash finish. I am thinking of applying an apple cider vinegar patina. Would the vinegar patina provide more corrosion resistance than the factory stonewash finish? Is the vinegar patina likely to take well if applied on top of the (cleaned) stonewash finish, or should I try and remove the stonewash finish first? My apologies if this discussion is already posted somewhere but I couldn't find it in this context--and given my lacking search skills! Thanks much!

No patina provides much additional protection on a higher carbon blade.

You could try adding a patina over the stone wash. If you don't like the results, you can always remove it with Flitz (or similar metal polish) and try again. You will also remove the stonewash finish however, if you polish (or use high grit sandpaper).

If the vinegar patina on top of stonewash is no value added, then I think I'll leave it as is. The stonewash finish looks pretty nice. Thanks much!
