Does water from vines have to be treated befor drinking?Which vines are safe to extract water from? The only vines I see in my area that carry large amounts of water are wild grape vines.
Thanks

Hi,

I've seen several "survival" episodes on TV and I think that water flowing out of cut vines can be drunken if it is clear so has no milky color or is "thicker" then water should be. It should taste agreable if it's clear with no biting, stinging taste.

Also never touch your lips with the cut of vine because even though the water is not poisenous the vine itself can be or can be very irritating and cause blisters and the like.

Cheers,

I want to do a test to see if the plants filter the water completely. I plan on taking water from vines at a sewage facility and having them tested by Michigan State.

I'll Keep yall posted.
