Now that GP/GB have honored me to have advantages of Gold Membership I am re-posting the OP. Story might be of interest to someone on this forum.

"New to this forum but believe I have a knife worth asking about. I am doing a "safe" inventory of items and came across a hunting knife given to me as a child. My father's business included fishing & hunting items so this knife was gotten from one of our wholesalers in NE TX in the sixties, probably Roberts, Sanford, & Taylor, Sherman, TX. I have used it on no telling how many deer and elk. The knife is a Schrade-Walden 165 UH with single digit serial number, yes 0000X. Sheath is well oiled and in good condition also. As I remember, this was a Christmas gift from my parents somewhere around 1962. If anyone could give me a more accurate estimate I would appreciate it. I assume value is that only in the thought of a serious S-W Uncle Henry collector."

Thank you very much. I thought an interesting story about the single digit 165, just one of the items that got me to investigating while I am compiling a list of guns and other things of some value so my wife will have an idea of what I have and possible worth. I lost my 1st wife of over 38 years in 2006 and in 2015 married a friend and once neighbor of ours. She does not even know all the guns I have. ha. Truth is, I'm a little startled of all them and how $$ add up. From my Dad's 74 and hammer L C Smith, my first shotgun, a 59A, to the many Freedom Arms revolvers (I was avid revolver hunter and still a CAS competitor). And, something else that might tickle someone's fascination, a SUHL sawback bayonet with steel sheath and greased blade, best I can figure, a 1915 WW1 find. It was found in an old house my late father-in-law bought many years ago.
Again, I appreciate the Gold Member status. I discovered this forum in my research of the 165UH, seems there was a member, Codger, who a number of years ago found the 165 of interest and had made some comments.
