Vintage 3.5 lbs axehead with DEFENDER stamped on it?

Need some help with an ID for an axehead I found. I think it was made by Evansville Tool Company but every picture I've found of similar axes that say DEFENDER on them aren't Jersey style axes. also this is my first post so I apologize if its unorthodox, thank you.

Evansville was a plant of the American Fork & Hoe Co., later part of True Temper. It was a brand, not a model, and so could be stamped on an assortment of different patterns.

as far as I can tell the only markings on it were DEFENDER. so would that be the model? and if so how could I pinpoint the age on it?
 
I don't have more detailed info I'm afraid. Just that it belongs somewhere in that general family.
