Hi guys I have a few Al Mar Fangs.
As a kid my Dad would take me to the knife store and we would look at the Fang month after month.
He never bought it and years later when I got into knives I searched for the knife we would go look at, it was an Al Mar Fang and purchased a vintage one for Dad.
I called him and said I was coming over with a surprise. His memory of the knife was not the same as mine. It was the right knife but it did not have the sentimental value to him that it did to me. Anyway I kept it and have purchased a few more along the way!
I purchased a like new one with box yesterday which I am waiting to be delivered.
When I looked back at the photos I noticed that the TANG was TAPERED, the ones I currently have the SCALES are Tapered.
I saw a photo or two of Fangs with the tapered tang.
Is this something special?
Is it a fake?
