Hi! This is my first time making a post (took a while just to figure out how haha) but I’ve been restoring old and vintage tools, my latest was a norlund and I’ve been super happy with the results I would definitely recommend picking up one, any way I’m getting side tracked, I got a axe from my pop and he told me he might have had it since his dad but he doesn’t
Know cause he runs through them all the time, here’s a couple photos of the axe, btw it has a HP stamp on it on one side and a 1/4 on the other, I can’t really tell since I put it in vinegar to try to see what
it says but still can’t its just too rusty. Here it is!

Yes, he's serious. Only paid members of Bladeforums can upload images directly to bladeforums. Others need to host their images somewhere else like......post image.

A lot easier just to pay the 10 bucks.
I am a basic member and most of the time can’t up load photos, I always get a error message about the server not having enough memory. I wish it would work because your correct it’s eayser. I just haven’t had much luck doing it.

Yes what they said haha. Post image is the easiest site. And we are welcoming here not sarcastic. Depending on who you ask haha

Weird that the bottom of the B didn't imprint. But you definitely nailed the ID of it Steve. Late 1980s would have been the very tail end of Swedish manufacture of North American-type patterns (the shape of the head), and also when they stopped painting them.

You can definitely see the starting of the rest of that B there in the picture.

When he said HP, I just had a feeling it would be a worn or miss stamped HB.
